The Village of Hawthorn Woods is taking measures to limit the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Hawthorn Woods is complying with guidelines to close non-emergency public buildings to address the progression of COVID-19. Emergency Services will continue from the Police Department. Municipal Services will continue from remote work locations.
At the guidance of public health officials, including the Center for Disease Control, the Illinois Department of Health, and the Governor’s Office, the Village of Hawthorn Woods will comply with the most effective strategies suggested and take preventative measures to help limit the spread of the Coronavirus Disease.
In order to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health, safety and welfare of our residents and workforce, effective Monday, March 16, the Village Hall and other non-emergency municipal facilities will be suspending all over-the-counter services, including building/zoning permits, and all licensing and registration services. While the Hawthorn Woods Police Department will remain open, the Village is urging residents to avoid any unnecessary in-person visits to all Village facilities during this time. All other municipal buildings will be temporarily closed to the public. A drop box is located at Village Hall, 2 lagoon Drive, to the right of the main doors, if drop off of paperwork is required.
Municipal operations will continue at remote locations, and all emails and phone contacts as listed on our website will remain accessible for our residents. Please remember emergency services are still available by dialing 911. For all other inquiries or general information, please call the Village Hall at 847-438-5500 or visit us at our website at www.vhw.org. All Village staff will be available to assist our residents during normal work hours as they telecommute to do our part to slow the progression of this health emergency. All department phone numbers and emails are available on the website.
