SNAG – Indoor Beginning Golf

(Ages 5-11)

This class is the perfect introduction to the sport of golf! In this beginner’s class, your child will use special SNAG equipment that is much easier to handle and allows the SNAG Ball to launch an average of 50 yards.  Children will learn the basics of the complete swing, putting, and chipping in a safe and stress-free atmosphere. This class will build your new golfer’s confidence. Instructed by Sports R Us. (Min/Max: 6/10)

Little Explorers Nature Class

(Ages 7-12)

Kids who love to explore the outdoors will have the opportunity to learn all about the critters in the Hawthorn Woods community in this 6-week class. The classes will cover a new group of animals and topics each week. The topics include: birds, amphibians/reptiles, mammals (small and large), insects, and research/experiments. Participants will be immersed in the world of animals and learn all about them and the habitat that they live in. The location will vary from week to week to explore different habitats. A schedule will be sent prior to the first class. All locations will be in Hawthorn Woods. Instructed by Teagan Johnson. (Min/Max: 4/10)

Babysitters Training (Ages 11+)

With Child and Infant First Aid/CPR 
This course will prepare students to be better babysitters. Topics include: how to provide care for infants and children, how to stay safe, what to do in an emergency, how to choose age-appropriate activities, and how to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors. Students will learn the basics of starting a babysitting business. Each participant will have the opportunity to earn their certification in child and infant First Aid/CPR. A session includes two class dates; participants must attend both classes to complete their training. Instructed by Teagan Johnson. (Min/Max: 4/10)

Kids in the Kitchen Workshops

(Ages 5-9)

Let’s cook! Participants will learn the basics of cooking, including how to safely cut, measure, and separate foods, as well as how to clean and sanitize the kitchen. Each class will consist of making one small meal, snack, and sweet treat. Held in the Village Hall Barn. Instructed by Teagan Johnson. (Min/Max: 4/8)

Go Girl Go Sports & Crafts Camp

(Girls Ages 4-9)

Life is tough, especially for girls trying to make it in the world of sports. This camp is a great way to introduce basketball, soccer, hockey, t-ball, and much more in an all-girl environment. Basic skills in all sports are taught, and games are played at the end of each class. The girls will play sports for the first half of each class and will participate in a fun craft for the second half. Craft time will include making beaded jewelry, bird feeders, flower pots, and more. The last class will involve a fun sport of their choice and a tie-dye project. Instructed by Sports R Us.

Sustainable Self Esteem

(Girls Grades 6-9)

This multi-series workshop will provide the fundamental building blocks of self-esteem and ways to increase this valuable attribute through discussion and activities. Participants will begin to identify and discover their inner and outer attributes and construct an action plan to sustain their self-esteem through their life journey. In addition, dining etiquette and protocol will be taught and practiced through a three-course luncheon during the last workshop. Program includes two Saturday sessions. Instructed by Sherrise Trotz, Sage Leadership Academy.
