Aqua Illinois Announces $2.5 million Infrastructure Improvement in Hawthorn Woods

Aqua Illinois announced that a $2.5 million infrastructure improvement project is currently underway in the Village of Hawthorn Woods, Lake County.

Crews are working to construct a new 500,000-gallon elevated storage tank on Schwerman Road. The project will provide additional water storage capacity for the growing community of Hawthorn Woods, while also increasing service reliability and improving firefighting capabilities in the area. The storage tank is expected to be in service this year, with project completion at the end of November.

“Aqua’s top priority is to deliver safe, reliable drinking water and wastewater services to our customers," said Aqua Illinois President Craig Blanchette. “Infrastructure across the state is in critical need of upgrade and replacement to meet the demands of our growing communities, and Aqua is proud to address this challenge head-on in Lake County.”

Aqua provides water and wastewater service to more than 225,000 people in 13 counties throughout Illinois. Visit AquaAmerica.com for more information, or follow Aqua on Facebook at facebook.com/MyAquaAmerica and on Twitter at @MyAquaAmerica.
