Arbor Day 2017 Tree Give-Away

Tree saplings (good for transplanting at homes and businesses) will be given away FREE to Hawthorn Woods residents while quantities last. The Village of Hawthorn Woods Environmental Committee is celebrating our community achieving the coveted TREE CITY USA designation for the second year in a row. Our goal is to have 250 trees planted throughout Hawthorn Woods and we need your help. Come out to the Aquatic Center between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday, April 29, and receive a Burr Oak, Swamp White Oak, Hackberry or Red Oak sapling tree. All trees were harvested from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources State Nursery in Topeka, Illinois. Help keep Hawthorn Woods the best blooming community in Lake County! Renew, recycle, reuse.
